Smerdox was a italo-kazakhi experimental noise band that started in the year 1997 by brothers John Giuseppe "Peppe" Smerdox
and Bilo Smerdox.
Every song is mainly composed of abstract noises, usually static or sines at high frequencies.
Smerdox defies what is commonly defined as "music" to create beautiful esoteric auditory experiences.
leading to what is commonly defined by Smerdox fans as "Smerdocore"
Smerdox's first album, "менің BILO ағамның шуылдауы бар ;3" released in 1996 in Kazakhstan, Shungay as cassettes,
but was later released worldwide in 1997.
Their second album "Smerdo Days" was made after John Giuseppe "Peppe" Smerdox moved to Germany,
and recieved news of Bilo Smerdox's death. It released in 1998.
Between 1998 and 2000, Smerdox went through a hiatus to cope with Bilo Smerdox's sudden death.
Many fans were left wondering what John Giuseppe "Peppe" Smerdox was doing at the time.
Many fans speculate John Giuseppe "Peppe" Smerdox was behing the
1999 Russian apartment bombings, this is
very likely as he apparently lived in Russia for a few months, including September (when the bombings happened)
he moved shortly after, on the 22nd of October 1999.
He also seemed to have several issues with local law enforcement and was seen near the crime scenes several times.
He was however never convicted, nor accused of committing said crimes.
Smerdox's third album was released in 2000 as "Smerdo Note" in Kasel, Germany as cassettes.
It later released in the same year worldwide as "Brown Note", likely to localise it and make the album more accessible.
John Giuseppe "Peppe" Smerdox sadly lost his life in the
September 11 attacks on the twin towers,
as he was on one of the hijacked planes. It is unclear whether he was just a passenger or an hijacker.
